Efficient, versatile disk-burning utility

NewTech Infosystems (NTI) has updated Dragon Burn to support the latest hardware, better live audio recording, more video and image options, and more for economical, reliable disk burning with nearly any combo or SuperDrive out there. With the additions and improvements such as dual-layer and 54x-burning support, you have to take note of such a well-thought-out product.
Once you set the initial preferences, it’s drag-and-drop to your heart’s content. My favorite, the live 1:1 audio recording, is more stable and less “hiccup” prone – even on an older TiBook G4 with an MCE SuperDrive – with surprisingly good results. From converting vinyl LPs to recording live from the mixing board at a concert, it just works.
Creating image archives to whatever media type you prefer is a snap and it’s easy to copy multiple picture CDs for clients or preview movies on the fly. The conversion engine for MP3 and AIF files maintains good sound quality in either direction and the burns are nearly
flawless. The DVD output is clean in appearance, but with few options.
My only negative issue is that I’d love to see a new interface emerge. The interface is east but just seems dated when making a full-version jump from 3 to 4 instead of an update. I hope that the new OS developer enhancements under Tiger will make their way into Dragon Burn’s GUI.
If you compare Dragon Burn 4 to other burn utilities, it really offers something unique in its compatibility, usability and features. It has a lot of bang for the price, especially given all of the latest technologies employed by NTI to make it worthwhile to upgrade your burner to the latest and greatest, whether the OS currently supports it or not.
