DVD-R provides the best compatibility with current and legacy players, making it Ideal for sharing videos and photo albums created with NTIs Gold Suite. DVD-RW, a rewritable DVD format with up to 1,000 write/rewrite cycles, is a cost-effective solution for testing DVD videos before recording to write-once DVD-R media. Using the same NTI software suite and the same Panasonic drive, users can switch to DVD-RAM to backup and recover their files. DVD-RAM provides high reliability, random access and 100,000 write/rewrite cycles and is often considered the best option for backup/recovery. When using Panasonic drives that support DVD-RAM, write speeds of up to 3x are used allowing 500MB of data to be recorded and verified in about two minutes. Data, music, photos and video files that dont require a high-capacity DVD disc can be recorded to CD-R and CD-RW media.

Video Capture, Editing, and DVD Authoring NTIs HomeVideo-Maker™ simplifies the movie-making process by allowing users to drag and drop video clips, digital photos and music files into either a storyboard or timeline editing format. Once assembled, users can add and delete scenes and enhance the video with music or special effects. The software also supports many time-saving features such as Smart Rendering for MPEG and DV AVI files, automatic and manual scene detection, and real-time movie or segment previewing.
